Nothing has changed!

Black Americans in Maryland have been subject to abuse and genocide throughout the State

but Baltimore City (a city that is close to 70% Black) has seen some of the most oppressive

policies of benign neglect and outright brutality.

-Black Americans built Baltimore and played the most significant role in it's history and culture.

-Baltimore City Schools are consistently overcrowded and underfunded.

-Police brutality and murders by police including but not limited to the city's infamous "gun

taskforce" brought a reign of terror on Black citizens, reaching it's peak at the murder of Freddie

-Korine Gaines is killed by Baltimore County and her 4 year old son shot. Aug 2016

-15 year old Black squeegee worker is charged with first degree murder after defending himself

from being attacked by a white adult with a basebal bat. July 2022

-Residents in West Baltimore are required to boil water before use due to contamination.
